Iranian Knowledge-Based Company Designs Hydraulic Drilling Rig  

TEHRAN (ANA)- An Iranian knowledge-based company succeeded in designing a hydraulic drilling rig capable of operating at 1,500 meters depth.

Kani Sanat Shahvar Company unveiled the achievement at the Islamic Azad University’s Asreh Omid Event, which was held in late May in Tehran’s Grand Mosalla.

The event was held with the participation of 3,000 knowledge-based companies, laboratories, research teams, and startups.

Saheb Ali Manafi, the vice-chancellor of the Islamic Azad University, Shahroud branch, told ANA that the company was established in 2012 with the goal of designing and building drilling machinery.

The company is active in the two fields of industrial and service sectors, he added.

Manafi went on to say that the company is also active in designing and modeling the first fully hydraulic drilling rig capable of operating at a depth of 1,500 meters, building the first fully hydraulic drilling rig capable of operating at a depth of 600 meters, and building a vertical drilling rig.

Patenting the drilling rigs, producing all downhole components, designing and manufacturing kinds of industrial and mining machinery, and offering technical services are among the fields of activity of the company.

Kani Sanat Shahvar is one of the technological units located in the science and technology park of Semnan province, he said, adding that in 2014, it received the license of a knowledge-based company.

The company offers services in the categories of performing drilling operations and designing, simulating, and producing industrial-scale drilling machines and related parts, overhauling various full and semi-hydraulic devices, and designing and building all kinds of cabins.

Having 81 different types of minerals, Iran is one of the top 10 mineral-rich countries across the globe. In this regard, the Iranian government is pursuing several programs for promoting the mining sector as a major contributor to the country’s economic growth.

Reza Mohtashami, the deputy, industry, mining, and trade minister, said in July that there are more than 15,000 mining machines, which are over 20 years old, in the fleet of mining industries of the country, which need renovation and replacement.
